Woman Arrested with 129kg Cannabis in Habiganj Raid

​The District Intelligence Branch (DB) of Habiganj Police has arrested a female drug trader along with a massive haul of narcotics during a special pre-dawn raid today.
​The Operation:
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Habiganj DB Police conducted a raid around 4:00 AM on Wednesday at the residence of one ‘Ratan’ in Bejura village, under Jagadishpur Union of Madhabpur Upazila. During the search, officers recovered 129 kilograms of cannabis and 07 bottles of the intoxicating syrup ‘Escaf’.
​The Arrest:
Police apprehended Aklima Akter (28) on the spot for her involvement in drug trafficking.
​According to DB sources, the seized narcotics have been taken into custody, and the process of filing a case under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned police station is underway. Authorities emphasized that such drives will continue to eliminate the drug menace from the district.
