UK Bengali Reporters Unity’s New Committee Takes Charge

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 6 PM London time, the new committee of the UK Bengali Reporters Unity officially took charge at a hall on Valence Road in East London.

The outgoing committee’s president, Md. Sajidur Rahman, secretary Mizanur Rahman Miru, and treasurer Azizul Ambia formally handed over responsibilities to the newly elected committee’s president Muhammad Shahed Rahman, secretary Abdul Bashir, and treasurer Mirza Abul Kasem.
All members of the newly elected executive committee were present during this transition. After taking charge, the first meeting and annual planning session of the new executive committee were held at the same venue, chaired by the newly elected president Muhammad Shahed Rahman and conducted by general secretary Abdul Bashir.
During the event, various plans and proposals were discussed by current executive committee member and London Queen Mary University lecturer Dr. Ansar Ahmad Ullah, outgoing president Md. Sajidur Rahman, outgoing secretary Mizanur Rahman Miru, newly elected senior vice-president Imdadun Khanom, vice-presidents Saheda Rahman and S.K.M. Ashraful Huda, treasurer Mirza Abul Kasem, assistant secretary Asma Matin, assistant secretary A. Rahman Oli, and assistant treasurer Anwarul Haque Shahin, among others.
Organizing and Training Secretary Jannatul Ferdous Dolly, Media and IT Secretary Suhel Ahmed, and Event Management-Facilities Secretary Imran Talukdar presented a written annual plan and delivered speeches.
The executive committee meeting concluded with a dinner gathering.
