Training on prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing held in Rajshahi
[Dhaka, February 22, 2025]

MetLife Bangladesh has recently organized a day-long training workshop on ‘Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing’ for financial associates of MetLife’s Rajshahi region. The workshop was held at Jamuna Hall of Grand Riverview Hotel, Rajshahi, under the guidance and support of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of Bangladesh Bank.
Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit’s (BFIU) Director Md. Mostakur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the event whereas MetLife Bangladesh’sExecutive Vice President and Head of Risk and Compliance Moinul Hye Asif was present as the special guest. In addition, BFIU’s Additional Director Md. Moshiur Rahman and Joint Director Dilip Chandra Das were present as resource persons at the event. The workshop was chaired by Md Lutfor Rahman, Assistant Managing Director and Chief Agency Sales Officer of MetLife Bangladesh.
The insurance sector has a significant contribution to the country’s economic and social development. The speakers opined that, if people involved in the insurance industry and the general public of the country are made aware of the dangers of money laundering and terrorist financing, the risks could be reduced to a large extent. The guests expressed hope that the knowledge gained from this workshop will be useful in preventing money laundering and terrorist financing.
