Eid Gathering of Natundhara Calling Everyone to Come Forward

With a call for the government and all segments of society to come forward in order to reduce the number of floating and destitute people to zero, Natundhara organized an “Eid Mehman” event. The program was held on March 21 at noon in front of its office on Topkhana Road. At the event, food was distributed among floating and underprivileged people as well as individuals from various professions. Among those present were Natundhara Bangladesh NDB Chairman Momin Mahadi, Presidium Member Rasheda Chowdhury, Senior Vice Chairman Shanta Farzana, and Joint Convener of Dhaka Metropolitan South Syed Faruk, among others.

During the event, Momin Mahadi told the media that even after 54 years of independence, no government in Bangladesh has taken effective steps to stabilize commodity prices. Instead, through rationing systems, TCB, and various projects, corruption has been nurtured, and rather than alleviating people’s hardships, these initiatives have indirectly sustained them. As a result, poverty has not decreased, and corruption has not stopped. He expressed hope that a future BNP government would not repeat these mistakes, which led to the downfall of previous governments.
