BNP Leader Shot on the Way Back from Mahfil

In Keraniganj, Dhaka, a BNP leader named Hasan Molla was injured by gunfire from miscreants. He is the General Secretary of Hazratpur Union BNP.

The incident occurred on Thursday (January 22) around 9:30 PM near his home in the Dhalikandi area of Keraniganj. In serious condition, he was taken to Dhaka Medical (DMCH) Hospital.
Hasan Molla’s younger brother, Rakib Hossain, stated that his brother is the General Secretary of Hazratpur Union BNP. At night, after completing election work at the office of Jagannathpur Ward No. 9 BNP, he went to a religious gathering (waaz mahfil) in the same area. He was returning home from there. As he neared his home, two miscreants on a motorcycle arrived at high speed and shot at him before escaping. The bullet hit the right side of his abdomen. Hearing his screams, nearby people quickly came to his aid. However, it is not immediately known who fired the shots.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, reported that after 10:30 PM, a BNP leader named Hasan Molla arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. He was shot on the right side of his abdomen. He is receiving treatment in the emergency department.
