Grameenphone and MetLife Bangladesh sign agreement to explore broader insurance coverage nationwide

[Dhaka, March 14, 2026] Grameenphone Ltd. (GP) and MetLife Bangladesh have signed an agreement to explore opportunities to expand insurance protection to a wider population of Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed by Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone, and Ala Ahmad, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh, in the presence of senior executives from both organizations.
Yasir Azman, CEO of Grameenphone, said, “At Grameenphone, we believe digital connectivity has the power to enable access to essential services that improve people’s lives. This collaboration with MetLife Bangladesh allows us to explore how technology and partnerships can help address protection gaps and contribute to greater financial resilience for people across Bangladesh.”
Ala Ahmad, CEO of MetLife Bangladesh, said, “Insurance plays a vital role in helping individuals and families prepare for life’s uncertainties. Through this agreement with Grameenphone, we aim to explore innovative, customer-centric approaches to expand insurance awareness and access, supporting long-term financial security for more people in Bangladesh.”
The two industry leaders will collaborate to combine Grameenphone’s extensive digital reach with MetLife Bangladesh’s insurance expertise, aiming to make financial protection solutions more digitally accessible through innovation.
