[Dhaka, 11 March 2026] Banglalink, the country’s leading digital operator, observed International Women’s Day 2026 through a series of initiatives including community volunteer engagement, awareness activities with marginalized communities, interactive learning sessions, employee discussions, and recognition initiatives held from March 5 to March 9.
Under the theme “From Rights to Reality,” the initiatives brought together employees, families, and community partners to promote partnership, inclusion, and collective progress toward ‘Rights, Justice, Action for All’, highlighting the importance of translating women’s rights into tangible progress.
The celebrations commenced on March 5 with a community volunteer engagement organized in partnership with Aparajeyo Bangladesh, where Banglalink employees interacted with underprivileged children and mothers from marginalized communities.
The event saw the participation of around 75 beneficiaries and 25 volunteers, creating a safe and interactive space for learning and dialogue. Activities included a creative art session where children expressed themes of hope, equality, and empowerment, alongside a health and awareness session led by a medical professional covering hygiene, health practices, and menstrual awareness.
Banglalink employee volunteers also staged a short drama portraying challenges women face due to social stigma, lack of awareness, and unequal opportunities. Using relatable storytelling, the performance highlighted the importance of girls’ education, family support, and challenging stereotypes to help young women pursue their aspirations.
Later in the week, on March 9, Banglalink hosted an internal program at Tigers’ Den, its headquarters, bringing employees together for discussions on inclusion and collective action in the workplace.
The event featured a panel discussion with Dr. Nabila Idris, member of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances in Bangladesh, and Barrister Nazia Kabir, corporate lawyer at Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates. The speakers shared perspectives on rights, justice, and opportunity, encouraging participants to reflect on how workplaces and communities can foster more inclusive environments.
Speaking on the occasion, Ruhul Quader, Acting Chief Human Resources Officer of Banglalink, said, “At Banglalink, we believe creating an inclusive workplace goes beyond policies, it requires everyday actions, empathy, and support for one another. Through these initiatives, we hope to encourage conversations and engagement that help turn the ideals of rights and equality into real experiences for women.”
A special segment recognized the winner of Banglalink’s He4She initiative, where a father of a Banglalink employee shared a heartfelt story about supporting his daughter’s ambitions, highlighting how support for equality often begins at home.
The program also marked the continued journey of the Banglalink Women’s Network, acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing committee members and welcoming the new committee for 2026, reaffirming Banglalink’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
