HONOR Bangladesh hosts workshop for BJIF journalists to explore responsible AI use in media

Syed MIZAN:::Dhaka, 8 February 2025] HONOR Bangladesh successfully organized “Practical AI & Media Integrity Workshop with HONOR AI” exclusively for Bangladesh ICT Journalist Forum (BIJF) members, highlighting HONOR’s commitment to responsible AI innovation by bringing together journalists and industry leaders to explore media integrity and the practical applications of artificial intelligence.
Hitler A. Halim, President of BIJF, stated in his welcome address, “AI is no longer optional for journalists, and understanding how it works is essential to protecting credibility. This workshop was designed to bridge technology, ethics, and real-world journalistic practice,” highlighting the relevance of the workshop in today’s media landscape.
Muzahidul Islam, Deputy Country Manager, HONOR Bangladesh, said, “AI is increasingly shaping how news is created and consumed. At HONOR, we believe that trust must remain at the center of this transformation, which is why we are committed to building responsible and human-centric AI technologies.”
Following this, Abdullah Al Mamun, Head of Business, HONOR Bangladesh, highlighted HONOR AI features for journalism, showcasing how its innovations enhance productivity, creativity, and content authenticity, while offering insights into upcoming AI capabilities for the evolving media landscape.
The workshop was conducted by Ghulam Sumdany Don, Chief Inspirational Officer at Don Sumdany Facilitation, Managing Director at Don Sumdany HR Services, and the Teenage Lifeskill Academy. He delivered a highly engaging, interactive session featuring icebreakers and practical discussions on new AI tools for news verification, authenticity, and productivity in journalism, making complex concepts accessible and relevant to newsroom challenges.
Participants also experienced hands-on interaction with the newly launched HONOR Magic 8 Pro, exploring its advanced AI features including a 200MP AI powered camera system, a proactive YOYO AI assistant and on-device AI security, showcasing HONOR’s leadership in next-generation AI smartphones.
The workshop concluded with strong engagement from BIJF members and HONOR officials alike, reinforcing HONOR’s position as a brand that not only innovates with AI but also prioritizes ethics, trust, and real-world value, especially for the media community.
