Chattogram City Corporation Launches Digital System for Commercial Holding Tax Collection

Chattogram, 29 January 2026: Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) has officially launched a digital system to modernise, enhance transparency and streamline the collection of commercial holding taxes.
The inauguration ceremony was held on Wednesday (28 January) afternoon at the conference hall of Chattogram City Corporation. Recently, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed among Chattogram City Corporation, B-Trac Solutions Limited and Miledge to digitise the commercial holding tax collection process.
Under the agreement, the entire commercial holding tax collection mechanism will be transformed into an online platform. The new system will enable taxpayers to pay their taxes easily and securely, while city authorities will be able to conduct tax collection with greater transparency through real-time analysis and reporting.
Chattogram City Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Technology-driven governance is the need of the time. We aim to transform the commercial holding tax collection system into a comprehensive digital platform so that business establishments can pay their taxes efficiently and with ease. This initiative will not only increase revenue collection but also significantly reduce corruption and harassment.”
He further noted that Chattogram City Corporation is gradually moving towards full automation of its administrative operations. Once implemented, the project will ensure greater transparency and accountability in tax collection, while enabling citizens to access information instantly.
From CCC, Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Secretary Md Ashraful Amin, Chief Revenue Officer Sarwar Kamal, Revenue Officer Sabbir Rahman Sani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) B-Trac Solutions Limited M Tanvir Siddique, Head of Project Safayet Abdullah & Managing Director of Miledge Abrar Rafid Chowdhury along with other officials also attended the programme.
The digitalisation initiative is being technically supported by B-Trac Solutions Limited and Miledge. The move is expected to significantly strengthen Chattogram City Corporation’s efforts to transform the city into a smart city through data-driven and technology-enabled governance.
