Dhaka, 18 January 2026: A policy dialogue focused on women’s empowerment and leadership was successfully held on January 18, 2026, bringing together around 1,000 attendees, including women leaders, professionals, students, and youth voices from across Bangladesh.
Organized by Reach Out (Sister Concern of The Front Page), the event, titled “Women Shaping the Nation: Policy, Possibility & the Future of Bangladesh,” took place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Complex, Farmgate, Dhaka. The Front Page served as the media partner for the event.
The dialogue aimed to position women not merely as beneficiaries of development initiatives, but as policy thinkers and nation builders. The discussions addressed critical issues such as women’s empowerment and safety, economic participation and entrepreneurship, leadership pathways, and the policy support mechanisms required for sustainable growth.
The event featured distinguished speakers including Tamara Abed, Managing Director of BRAC Enterprises; Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD); Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Member of the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Barrister Zaima Rahman, granddaughter of the late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, delivered special remarks during the dialogue.
The session was moderated by Kazi Jesin, Journalist and Media Professional, who facilitated a structured and engaging discussion among panelists and participants.
Designed to bridge the gap between policy vision and lived realities, the dialogue emphasized solution-oriented engagement among diverse stakeholders. Participants had the opportunity to engage directly with leaders and changemakers, gain insights into pathways for economic empowerment, and contribute meaningfully to policy discussions shaping the future of Bangladesh.
