Huawei Starts Providing Housing Support to Flood-victims

The recent Flood in Bangladesh has caused unprecedented destruction, impacting over thousands of families without Homes. Many families have lost their shelters and spending miserable days with their elders and children. To assist few of these families, Huawei Bangladesh has started the second phase of its flood relief initiative this year.
In this second phase, Huawei will build houses on the land of flood victims and deliver to them free of cost. This Week four families of Parshuram, Feni have received houses from Huawei. The first four recipients are Ahsan Ullah, Shahidul Islam, Mustafa, and Delwar.
Lin Hai (Haven), Board Member, Huawei South Asia, formally handed over the houses to the flood-victims at their locality. Ahmed Imtiaz Jami, Founder and President of Obhizatrik Foundation was also present. In a recent future 21 more families will get same facility.
In this flood relief campaign Huawei has collaborated with Obhizatrik Foundation, a non-profit organization. Here, Huawei provides the funding for the flood relief campaign and Obhizatrik Foundation selects the recipients, coordinates with them.
Besides this, Huawei has been running several medical camps from August in flood-affected areas. The medical camps offered doctors’ advice, medicines, water purification kits, clean water, and other necessary medical support to the victims free of cost. Around 2000 people are taking medical care from these medical camps every day.
Huawei has been participating in such humanitarian works through its corporate social responsibility activities in Bangladesh for the last 26 years. During natural disasters, Huawei actively extendes support to the people of Bangladesh according to its motto, ‘In Bangladesh, For Bangladesh’.
